We're connected!

Okay, I've learned how to blog (finally), and it seems like a great way to connect with family and friends. I'm not great at keeping in touch via e-mail/phone/letters for various reasons. Blogging can be sporadic, yet meaningful and very personal. Let's stay connected one blog entry at a time! No information is too small, trite, or boring to share. The little things are the moments that get lost when we are far apart.
I'm in a class right now, learning how to blog, design web pages, moodle, jah, jah, jah. It's good, but I've realized how little I've been using tech-wise.

As you can see on my Mr. Rowley page, I'm six months behind on my blog. When I had a cell phone, I would take a picture and send it to the blog. Now I'm phoneless in Seattle.
We are looking forward to seeing you all soon too. B

Hi Cyndy...here is a small snapshot of us: Jude is looking forward to a double header tomorrow (looking like 90 degree weather too), is currently at my mom's practicing with her as much as he can get away with. Louis is going to take a ballet class tomorrow morning, first one, step one in his grand scheme to be a soldier in the Nutcracker this winter (they carry swords).

The parents? I guess you'll have to come here and find out in person!

It feels good to sit down to write in our blog. It has been a busy week. So much for teachers having the summer free! So far, in three weeks of summer, I've worked two weeks for Bruce on his constuction crew, and I spent a week in a technology class. I had to send a final paper on the Tuesday after the class, and I didn't format the document correctly, so it didn't send.Hmmm.I have high hopes for using technology in my classroom. I'm not off to a great start.
Taylor has been battling poison ivy...bad. I think he is on the mend though. He loves his new job at a design company, running a graphic printing machine, and he is still washing dishes two nights on the weekend.
Alisa had her last soccer tournament this past weekend, and she had 3 hockey games this week. She hasn't played hockey in 3 or 4 years, but she is excited to play for her school this year, so she's playing in a short season summer league to get ready. It's very fun to watch her again! Tonight I'm taking Alisa and friends to fireworks in Burlington, and tomorrow the towns have their parades and fun. Everybody has a plan.
We can hardly wait for WA vacation!

It's JULY 4TH YEAH! and I got to read all the blog and comments. Iona is sleeping in (it's 8:33am) and I am emailing friends in Honduras and blogging to God only knows who.
Read The Shack by Willaim Young, gave a few copies away, and loved it. Cried several times while reading. Also enjoyed very much "Blue Like Jazz" and "Searching for God knows what" by Donald Miller, who lives near Portland Oregon.
Trying to start Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis and Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. Waiting to see my little girl and her grown up kids. We are gonna have some fun. You do like slippy slides don't you? And ice-cream on a stick? Love and Hugs 'til next time. Dad

Has it really been two weeks since we were in Seattle with you? It was a great trip! I loved spending time with my family and friends, getting to know you all again, and realizing we haven't changed a bit. It is funny how time and distance can make me wonder if we know each other anymore, but I don't wonder now. Each of you are still the same people I've always loved (sappy but true). I know our kids have all grown!! Wow. A highlight of our vacation for me was to see our kids playing together, like they do it all the time. We have great kids. What a blast to play baseball with three generations on the field, and the youngest generation just as valued as the oldest generation. Thanks for spending time with us, just hanging out. It was a perfect week for all of us.
